Minimalist Baby + Mama Essentials

Irvine, CA
Kids Room

My third and last kid just turned 3 months and after surviving 3 years of being pregnant back to back (don’t worry I planned each of my pregnancy) I’m that crazy! hahah. I’m finally in a place where I can offer useful suggestions to the new mamas.

Like any new mom, I walked into the baby store and I immediately wanted to run away. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. So many different gadgets and endless options. I ended up buying and registering for items I had no need for or never even took out of the package. The good thing is that after my second baby I was able to determine what I truly needed. Of course, every baby is different. There were items that were super useful with my son that I had no need for with my daughter. By the time I had baby number 3, my list went from the top 50 items that were a must-have to less than 10 items.

Please keep in mind that these are my essential items for babies under 3 months. Without further ado, here are my top minimalist items for you and your newborn baby. It also helps that my lifestyle has changed and being more sustainable has helped me only purchase essentials for my baby and myself.

  1. Onesies, gowns, bodysuit
  2. Sleepers and Sleep Sacks
  3. Carseat
  4. Stroller
  5. Disposable (or Cloth) Diapers

  8. Swaddles you can use this as a nursing cover
  9. Pacifier
  10. Hats/beanies

  1. Breast pump
  2. Nursing pillow
  3. Nursing bras
  4. Breast pads love the reusable ones
  5. Prenatal Vitamins
